Three museums, one walk

All three are free, and all three are close

Looking for a hotel near the Natural History Museum? The Natural History Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Science Museum sit within a few hundred metres of one another in South Kensington. Entry to all three is free.

From London Court Hotel they are two stops on the District or Piccadilly line (about ten minutes door to door) or a twenty-minute walk through Earl’s Court and Kensington.

That combination is the reason to choose a hotel near the Natural History Museum here rather than in the middle of town. You are close enough to walk back for an afternoon rest between galleries, and still on the Zone 1 boundary for everything else in London.

Rooms start at £50 a night, and our Classic Triple family room sleeps three from £90.

With children

Doing the museums as a family

Go early

The Natural History Museum is busiest from late morning through the middle of the afternoon, and at weekends and in school holidays. Arriving at opening is the difference between queuing and walking in.

Opening time beats the queue

The family room

Our Classic Triple is the room most families here book: one double bed and one single, around 15 m², en suite with a walk-in shower, from £90 a night. It sleeps three.

Come back for a rest

Ten minutes each way means you can go back to the room in the afternoon rather than dragging a tired child round a fourth gallery. That is hard to do from a hotel in the middle of town.

Late morning check-out

Check-out is 11 AM, which lines up with museum opening if you want one last morning before your train. Reception will store your bags.
